A Fairfield man has been arrested on 22 felony charges, including possession of child pornography and production of child pornography.
Stephen Robert Lucas, 38, was taken into custody by the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 1 and was charged with 12 counts of possession of child pornography, six counts of production of child pornography, and four counts of taking indecent liberties with a child under 15 years of age. He is currently being held without bond at the Rockbridge Regional Jail.
Rockbridge County Deputy Chief Tony McFaddin told The News-Gazette on Tuesday that the investigation that resulted in Lucas’s arrest began with a tip from the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which came across pictures on the internet that they were able to determine originated in Rockbridge County, at which point they contacted the sheriff’s office to continue the investigation locally. McFaddin also said that several electronic devices were seized under search warrants following Lucas’s arrest, and that other charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
