Kendal at Lexington Residents Embrace Olympic Spirit with Community Games

In honor of the 2024 Olympic Games, Kendal at Lexington recently hosted a multi-day celebration that brought together residents and staff for a series of spirited competitions. The event showcased the community’s commitment to promoting active lifestyles and lifelong learning among its members.

The festivities included a diverse array of competitions tailored to suit the interests and abilities of the residents. Highlights included water relays in the indoor heated pool, a modified version of chair volleyball designed for older adults, as well as wiffleball, cornhole, and ping-pong tournaments. These activities not only encouraged physical fitness but also fostered camaraderie and fun among participants.

Kendal Lexington, a life plan community known for its continuum care and dedication to active living at any age, demonstrated its values through this vibrant event. “This is a really great event for the community. We really appreciated seeing the residents come out and really get into the spirit of things,” said Erica Turman, Director of Marketing at Kendal Lexington.

The games kicked off with an opening ceremony that featured Kendal’s full-time fitness instructors carrying the Olympic flag and their own version of a torch, adding a touch of authenticity and excitement to the proceedings.

Overall, the Kendal Lexington Olympic Spirit event was a resounding success, bringing joy, enthusiasm, and a sense of unity to the community.
