We are please to hear that the Farmers Market is doing fantastic. The number of vendors is increasing as are the customer numbers. This past Friday there were eight vendors, including three with produce, and 50 customers. On Saturday there were six vendors, including a new one with baked goods, who promises to be a regular for the balance of the season. If you haven’t checked them out, come this weekend. They are open Friday and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Back Home Reunion saw about 200 in attendance – this correspondent’s guess. Relatives and descendants came from Georgia, Florida, and even England took part in the weekend activities. The parade got started a little late, but with a number of entries. The parade started at the end of Catawba and proceeded to the Thompson Community Center, where various vendors were set up. A nice meal was had by all. With the heat and storm threat most outside activities moved inside for safety.

Members of Glasgow Baptist Church enjoyed a covereddish meal and an informal business meeting concerning plans for the future of the church. God is blessing us and the church is beginning to see growth. If you don’t have a church home, you are invited to join them on Sunday mornings. Sunday school at is at 9:45 a.m. and worship service is at 11.
