High Bridge Presbyterian Church welcomed back the Rev. Steve Willis this past Sunday after his vacation in Spruce Pine, N.C.

The Christian Education Committee decided last week to have Rally Day begin at 10 a.m. on Sept. 8 with breakfast provided for those attending. Sunday school classes officially begin the following Sunday, Sept. 15, starting at 10 also. Worship service will revert back to the former time beginning at 11.

The Presbyterian Women’s mission for this quarter will be collecting clothing for the clothes closet at Natural Bridge Elementary School, specifically sizes 5-12 with an emphasis on elastic waists. Faye Worley will be collecting the donations each Sunday at the church.

There will be a “Hootenanny” sing in the pavilion outside the church on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 7 p.m.

Small Group will meet for Bible study on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 7 p.m. with Joe Hawes in the fellowship hall.

High Bridge sends happy birthday wishes on Friday, Aug. 23, to John Funkhouser!

Beth Horon United Methodist Church wishes to thank all who came out and supported the ice cream supper for the church mission projects. It was a big success and was sold out.

Mark your calendars for Aug. 25 when Sunday worship will be held at Cave Mountain Lake pavilion. There will be a covered- dish luncheon after worship at the lake. David Whitmore will have transportation from the parking area to the pavilion for those who need it. Weather permitting, there will be swimming and other activities to take place afterwards.

The Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, and close at 11. The High Bridge congregation is collecting canned fruit and vegetable oil for the food pantry during the month of August.
