Ladies and gentlemen of Virginia and more specifically, Rockbridge County, we are on the back straightaway heading into the final turn! The election is almost upon us!
Before I ask of you a favor, I want to share with you that I am of neither party. I am a moderate independent, and am a retired USAF lieutenant colonel. I served this country in Vietnam, Desert Storm, Grenada and the Falklands.
I love this country and you as fellow Americans; each and every last one of you.
As I flew my Air Force jet up the Blue Ridge Mountains, on my way to the war in the Middle East, I looked down on Rockbridge County. I thought of how lucky I was to have grown up in such a beautiful part of Virginia, with such a wonderful, eclectic group of people.
I went to war for you and felt honored to do so. I had no qualms about putting my life on the line for each of you. You are like family to me.
The favor I ask is please look at the options that we have going into this election. All Trump’s been doing is calling Harris names, whining that his crowds have been bigger than hers, claimed to be “better looking” than she, and even demonstrated his lack of knowledge of inflation by using two tic-tac containers to define it! God help us! This man is supposed to be running for president!
Harris on the other hand has offered bright, well-thought-out plans for the future of all Americans. She’s a hopeful optimist, holds herself accountable and I truly believe will run the show a hell of a lot better thanTrump! PHILIPCLAYTON Rockbridge County
