The Rockbridge Baths Volunteer Fire Department is re-launching its popular Labor Day celebration, after a severalyear hiatus.
The event will take place on Monday, Sept. 2, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the firehouse, and will support the RBVFD.
Events include a community yard sale starting at 8 a.m., an online auction of various highquality packages and items that will be published on the RBVFD Facebook page, breakfast and lunch for purchase in the firehouse, and a bouncy slide for children.
“Our community members have been asking for a return of the Labor Day celebration, and we want to deliver that,” said Fire Chief Melvin Bauernfiend. “As volunteer first responders, the community absolutely depends on us in emergencies, and we depend on the community as well, to support the upkeep of our facility and our needs for equipment and training. We’re excited to be able to bring this event back and get together with our friends and neighbors.”
Booths for the community yard sale are available for $10 for a 12-by-12-foot space on the grass, and can be reserved in advance by texting Kati Brantley at (719) 355-6036, or purchased the morning of the event. Anyone with questions is welcome to reach out as well.
