Notice is hereby given per Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia and Section 808 of the County of Rockbridge Land Development Regulations (the Regulations) that public hearings will be held by the Rockbridge County Planning Commission on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at or after 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the County Administration Building, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450 to consider the following applications: 1) Virginia Electric and Power Company DBA Dominion Power, 5000 Dominion Blvd. Glen Allen, Virginia, 23060 has made an application for a Special Exception Permit to rebuild a portion of its 115 kV transmission line that is located on the westside of the existing Balcony Falls substation (4115 Glasgow Highway, Glasgow, Virginia 24555). The property is in the Agricultural and General Uses (A-2) Zoning District. Per section 603.03-9 of the Regulations, Public Utilities are a use by special exception in the A-2 District.

2) Virginia Electric and Power Company DBA Dominion Power, 5000 Dominion Blvd. Glen Allen, Virginia, 23060 has made an application for a Special Exception Permit to rebuild a portion of its 115 kV transmission line that is located on the westside of the Glasgow Highway (Route 501). The portion of the line that is being proposed to be rebuilt starts at approximately 0.20 miles north of the intersection Rockbridge Road (Route 130) Glasgow Highway (Route 501)and ends at the southside of the southern intersection of River Road (Route 663) and Glasgow Highway (Route 501). The total length of the proposed project is approximately 1.20 miles. The properties are in the General Industrial (I-1) Zoning District and within the Flood Hazard [Overlay] District (FH-1) (Zone AE Hatched (Floodway)). Per section 607.02-19 of the Regulations, public utilities are a permitted use in the I-1 Zoning District. Per section 608.11-2(2) of the Regulations, utilities and public facilities are a use by Special Exception in Zone AE Hatched (Floodway).

3) Steven D. and Christina M. Hart, 688 Still House Drive, Virginia 24450 have made an application for a Special Exception Permit to develop and operate a Country General Store. The property is owned by Steven D. and Christina M. Hart and is located on the northwest side of the intersection of W. Midland Trail (Route 60) and Fredericksburg Road (Route 60) and is identified as tax map number 47-A-54 (84.775 ac. – per tax records). The property is in the Agricultural and General Uses (A-2) Zoning District. Per section 603.03-6 of the Regulations, Country General Stores are a use by special exception in the A-2 District.

PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING September 10th 2024

Pursuant to Code of Virginia Section 15.2-2204 , Section 15.21800, and the City of Buena Vista Land Development Regulations , notice is given that the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to receive comment on the following matters.

1) Zoning Map Amendment, Conditional Use Permit, and Right of Way Abandonment, Tax Map 6-1-6-25-2, 40th Street and Catalpa Avenue. Map Amendment to rezone from R3 Residential Limited to R4 Medium Density Residential for the purpose of building a 12-unit apartment building; Conditional Use Permit to reduce minimum rear setback and to construct and operate public laundromat; ROW abandonment of portion of alleyway at north end of property in order to realign alley to a new entrance/exit.

The Public Hearing will be held in the City Council Chambers located in the Municipal Building located at 2039 Sycamore Avenue in Buena Vista during the regular monthly Planning Commission meeting at approximately 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 10th 2024. BUENA VISTA CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING September 5th 2024

Pursuant to Code of Virginia Sections 15.2-2204 and 15.2-1800, notice is given that the City Council of the City of Buena Vista will hold a public hearing to receive comment on the following matters. 1) Abandonment of portion of alley adjacent to 740 W 4th Street.

The Public Hearing will be held in Council Chambers, City Hall, 2039 Sycamore Ave, Buena Vista VA 24416. The meeting begins at 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 5th 2024. TOWN OF GLASGOW PUBLIC HEARING

The Planning Commission and Town Council of Glasgow, Virginia will hold joint public hearings at the Glasgow Public Library, 1108 Blue Ridge Rd, Glasgow, Virginia at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2024, to consider the following: 1) Amendment to Chapter 18 Zoning, Article IV Commercial District (C-1), Section 18-31, to allow a “Recreational Substances Store” as a Conditional Use in the Commercial District (C-1) Zoning District. Amendment to Chapter 18 Zoning, Article I General, Section 18-1 Definitions, to add a definition of “Recreational Substance Store”. 2) Request for a Conditional Use Permit by Ted Slayton, owner and Mohammed Abu-Sukhen DBA Glasgow Tobacco and Vape, in accordance with Chapter 18-Zoning, Article IV Commercial District (C-1), Section 18-31 Uses Permitted by Conditional Use, (Recreational Substance Store) to conduct retail sales of recreational substances, on Tax Map Number 108A6-1-153-19 & 108A6-1-153-21 (920 Rockbridge Rd). The subject property is zoned C-1 Commercial.

This area is designated Commercial in the Comprehensive Plan.

CITY OF LEXINGTON NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
