The annual Labor Day 5-kilometer running race and kids’ 600-meter fun run welcomed 85 participants in Buena Vista on Monday morning, raising funds for the Parry McCluer High School cross country teams. There were 55 runners in the 5K and 30 in the fun run. AT LEFT, Runners take off in the 5K, won by Jonathan Coleman (Fleet Feet Racing Team shirt), a 2014 PM graduate, in 16 minutes, 43 seconds. The female winner for the second year in a row was Laurel Sheffield, a 2014 Rockbridge County High School, in about 20 minutes. BELOW, Judah Brownstein, a 2001 RC graduate, makes his way toward the finish line. AT BOTTOM LEFT, PM head cross country coach Chris Poluikis hands a medal to a finisher in the kids’ race.
