Courts Update

Two women from Fairfield were indicted by a Rockbridge County grand jury last week on charges, including malicious wounding and malicious wounding as part of a mob, in connection with an alleged assault that occurred in Lexington in May.

Reanna Lauryn Hardy, 22, and Tia Jaden Bailey Brannon, 23, were each indicted on one felony count of aggravated malicious wounding, malicious wounding, and malicious wounding as part of a mob in connection with the alleged assault that occurred on May 20. Brannon was also indicted on one felony count of entering a structure to commit a felony, and both women are facing two misdemeanor charges in connection with the incident: one count each of obstructing use of a phone and sexual battery. Hardy was also indicted on two felony counts of assault on a law enforcement officer on June 4.

In a statement given to Lexington Police on May 21, the victim reported that a woman approached her car and struck her in the head repeatedly, then proceeded to climb into the car while continuing to attack her. The woman, she said, spit on her face and hair and told her to “watch where [you’re] going.” At this point, a second woman joined in the attack. The victim said she attempted to make a phone call, but her attackers took the phone and hung up. They then removed her pants and underwear and groped her before attacking her head and temples, using slurs and cursing her before fleeing.

Hardy and Brannon are scheduled to be arraigned on all charges on Sept. 17 and Sept. 24, respectively, in Rockbridge County Circuit Court. -A Lexington man was indicted on three felony charges by the grand jury, including child cruelty and strangulation.

Christopher Paul Littek, 36, was arrested on June 26 and charged with one felony count of child endangerment and one misdemeanor count of assault and battery of a family member. The grand jury on Sept. 3 indicted Littek on the child endangerment charge, as well as two other felonies: one count of assault and battery of a family member (third or subsequent offense) and strangulation. According to the indictment, the victim, who was not named, is 5 years old.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 24. - The following individuals were also indicted by the grand jury on Sept. 3: Luke Stephen Crouse, 33, for six counts of attempting to take indecent liberties with a child between March 28 and April 18, one count of production of child pornography on March 28, five counts of production of child pornography (second or subsequent offense) between April 8 and April 17, one count of using a communication system to propose a sex act to a minor on March 28, and six counts of using a communication system to propose a sex act to a minor (second or subsequent offense) between April 8 and April 18.

Jason Blair Swink, 50, for one count of extortion in writing on April 29 and four counts of violating a protective order (third or subsequent offense within 20 years) between April 28 and 29.

Nelson Steven Thompson Jr., 40, for one count of check forgery one count of falsely uttering and one count of obtaining money under false pretenses on Dec. 21, 2023.

Megan Conners Ziegler, 49, for one count of perjury in a written declaration on July 25.

Paula Marie Harmon, 42, for one count of forgery, one count of falsely uttering, and one count of obtaining money under false pretenses on Aug. 13.

Sidney Elaine Roberts, 21, for one count of destruction of property on March 2.

Katherine Auman, 64, for one count of grand larceny and one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on April 3.

Morgan Grace Tucker, 24, for one count of possession of 10 grams or more of Methamphetamine with intent to distribute and one count of delivery of a controlled substance to an inmate on Feb. 1.

Daniel Gordon Hedrick, 43, for one count of unlawful injury on May 14.

Christopher Thomas Ruley, 35, for one count of unlawful wounding and one count of extortion in writing on June 5.

Jonathan Glen Gooch, 34, on one misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated and one misdemeanor count of refusing a breath test (second offense within 10 years) on April 1 and one misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated on April 16.

Douglas James Sturtz, 43, for one count of abduction of a minor on June 16.

Richard Dale Mayo, 64, for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (Methamphetamine) on May 7.

Chandler Ray Engle, 23, for two counts of maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle on June 4.

Joseph Ryan Brown, 39, for two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer on June 16.

Brandon Christopher Brown, 34, for one count of assault on a law enforcement officer on April 28.

James Allen Thompson, 35, for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug and one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (Methamphetamine) on March 3.

Antione Lewis Wilson, 48, for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (Methamphetamine) on Sept. 1, 2023.

Stephen Michael Whitt, 30, for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (Methamphetamine) on May 6.

Charles Ray Staton, 49, for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (Methamphetamine) on Jan. 19.

Brian Christopher Long, 40, for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (Methamphetamine) on Oct. 29, 2023.

Richard D. Deaton, 30, for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (Fentanyl) and one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (Methamphetamine) on Feb. 28.

Samuel Jay Cousins, 48, for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (Methamphetamine) on Dec. 18, 2023.

Gregory Dean Bradley, for one count of possession of a firearm while possessing a schedule I or II drug, one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (LSD) and one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (Methamphetamine) on Jan. 17.

Leroy Junior Buford, 35, for one count of eluding police on March 5.

Shannon T. Cooper, 47, for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (Methamphetamine) on Oct. 28, 2022.

William Haywood Hazelwood, 37, for one count of eluding police on June 27.

Charles Richard Huff, 27, for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (Methamphetamine) on April 3.

Kelsey Nicole Carter, 32, for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug (Methamphetamine) on Dec. 18, 2023.

Roger Victor Martin, 66, for one count of making a false statement of a criminal history check form on April 26.

Santos Rutilio Monilla Gonzalez, 47, for one count of driving while intoxicated (fourth or subsequent offense within 10 years) on May 12.
