BUENA VISTA CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING September 19th 2024

Pursuant to Code of Virginia Sections 15.2-2204 and 15.2-1800, notice is given that the City Council of the City of Buena Vista will hold a public hearing to receive comment on the following matters. 1) Abandonment of 200 feet of alleyway in the 100 block of East 31st Street, at the intersection with Catalpa Ave, and transfer of a 50’ x 25’ portion of a City owned parcel designated 19-1-6-21-24, for the purpose of establishing a private street to serve proposed residential development. The Public Hearing will be held in Council Chambers, City Hall, 2039 Sycamore Ave, Buena Vista VA 24416. The meeting begins at 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 19th 2024. City of Lexington Notice of Public Hearing Amendment of Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Budget

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be conducted by the Lexington City Council on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. during its regular meeting, held in the first-floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia,to solicit input on Ordinance 202407 amending the FY 2024 budget. The budget total will remain $52,416,650. This ordinance proposes reallocating previously appropriated funds among various functions of Lexington’s operations. Unspent funds within General Government Administration, Public Safety, Public Works, Recreation & Leisure Services, and Economic & Community Development will be reappropriated to Judicial Administration and Health, Education, & Welfare to cover increased expenditures within those categories. City of Lexington Notice of Public Hearing Amendment of Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Budget Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be conducted by the Lexington City Council on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. during its regular meeting, held in the first-floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia, to solicit input on Ordinance 202408 amending the FY 2025 budget from $52,492,109 to $56,754,739. This ordinance proposes appropriating $100,000 of the FY24 surplus to the Lexington Police Department for training and development opportunities and the purchase of an electric vehicle. Additionally, $4,162,630 in carryover funds are proposed to be appropriated as follows $31,970 General Government Administration; $54,042 Judicial Administration; $20,372 to Public Safety;$213,320 to Public Works; $2,733 to Recreation & Leisure Services; 16,912 to Economic & Community Development; $34,938 for a capital project at Lylburn Downing;$1,025,053 to the Utility Fund to continue I&I reduction projects, meter replacements, drainage improvements, and the Jackson Ave Area Water and Sewer Project; $1,934,855 to the Capital Projects Fund to continue sidewalk improvements, street paving, cemetery improvements, stormwater projects, dam projects, bridge repairs, and renovations to City Hall; and $828,435 in the Equipment Replacement Fund to complete purchases of vehicles ordered in FY 2023 and 2024 but not delivered before fiscal year end. Notice is hereby given per Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia and Section 808 of the County of Rockbridge Land Development Regulations (the Regulations) that public hearings will be held by the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors on Monday, September 23, 2024, at or after 6:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the County Administration Building, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450 to consider the following applications: 1) Virginia Electric and Power Company DBA Dominion Power, 5000 Dominion Blvd. Glen Allen, Virginia, 23060 has made an application for a Special Exception Permit to rebuild a portion of its 115 kV transmission line that is located on the westside of the existing Balcony Falls substation (4115 Glasgow Highway, Glasgow, Virginia 24555). The property is in the Agricultural and General Uses (A-2) Zoning District. Per section 603.03-9 of the Regulations, Public Utilities are a use by special exception in the A-2 District. 2) Virginia Electric and Power Company DBA Dominion Power, 5000 Dominion Blvd. Glen Allen, Virginia, 23060 has made an application for a Special Exception Permit to rebuild a portion of its 115 kV transmission line that is located on the westside of the Glasgow Highway (Route 501). The portion of the line that is being proposed to be rebuilt starts at approximately 0.20 miles north of the intersection Rockbridge Road (Route 130) Glasgow Highway (Route 501)and ends at the southside of the southern intersection of River Road (Route 663) and Glasgow Highway (Route 501). The total length of the proposed project is approximately 1.20 miles. The properties are in the General Industrial (I-1) Zoning District and within the Flood Hazard [Overlay] District (FH-1) (Zone AE Hatched (Floodway)). Per section 607.02-19 of the Regulations, public utilities are a permitted use in the I-1 Zoning District. Per section 608.11-2(2) of the Regulations, utilities and public facilities are a use by Special Exception in Zone AE Hatched (Floodway). 3) Amanda L. Goad and Jeffery S. McDorman, 748 Valley Pike, Lexington, Virginia 24450 have made an application for a conditional zoning map amendment. The property is owned by Amanda G. and Jeffery S. McDorman (per tax records) and is located on the southwest side of the intersection of N Lee Highway (Route 11) and Valley Pike (Route 645) and is identified as 2659 N Lee Highway, Lexington, Virginia 24450. The property is further identified as tax map number 49-A-56. The property is currently split zoned with a portion being in the Agricultural Transitional (A-T) Zoning District and a portion being in the General Residential (R-1) Zoning District. The application is to rezone the property to the General Business (B-1) Zoning District, with acceptance of potential proffers. 4) Steven D. and Christina M. Hart, 688 Still House Drive, Virginia 24450 have made an application for a Special Exception Permit to develop and operate a Country General Store. The property is owned by Steven D. and Christina M. Hart and is located on the northwest side of the intersection of W. Midland Trail (Route 60) and Fredericksburg Road (Route 60) and is identified as tax map number 47-A54 (84.775 ac. – per tax records). The property is in the Agricultural and General Uses (A-2) Zoning District. Per section 603.03-6 of the Regulations, Country General Stores are a use by special exception in the A-2 District.
