Wildcats Stymied By Alleghany, 63-14

 

The Rockbridge County High School football team suffered a 63-14 road loss to Alleghany on Friday night in Covington. 

Sophomore quarterback Elijah Watkins ran for a 1-yard touchdown in his first start for the Wildcats (0-3), and sophomore running back Pat Looney scored RC’s other TD on a 3-yard run. 

For the Cougars (3-0), who led 21-0 after the first quarter and 42-7 at halftime, quarterback Des Jordan threw three TD passes.

The Wildcats will return to action next Friday when they play host to Blacksburg (1-2) at 7 p.m. At halftime, RC will recognize its third annual Athletic Hall of Fame class.
