Sept. 18, 1974

Andrew Johnson, a pharmacist from Forest, announced that he would assume ownership of Bierer’s Pharmacy, which had been owned by John M. Bierer since 1946. - Buena Vista City Council took preliminary steps to secure a federal grant for the construction of a waste water treatment plant in the city. -In at 3-2 vote, the Lexington School Board decided against providing school bus transportation for city students.

Sept. 22, 2004

City and county officials planned to request an extension to the deadline set by the circuit court to begin construction on the new courts complex. - Robert N. “Bucky” Joyce Jr. and David Natkin, both candidates for commonwealth’s attorney, squared off at a candidates forum in Vesuvius.

- Eighty-three people signed the register book for the Miller reunion held at the Broad Creek A.R. Presbyterian Church. The Millers are the descendents of the same Millers who gave the land for the building of the church.
