Underwater Archeology Talk Topic

Glasgow Public Library will present the program “Underwater Archaeology: What Lurks beneath Virginia’s Waterways” Monday, Sept. 23, at 6 p.m.

Brendan Burke, state underwater archeologist with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, will talk about the discovery and preservation of Virginia’s submerged maritime artifacts.

Virginia’s rich maritime heritage can be found in the ships sunk during the Battle of Yorktown; in the canoes and settlement areas of Virginia Indians; in the lands lost to erosion and sea level rise; and beyond.
