The Rev. John R. “Skip” Hastings led the 110 a.m. worship service at the Collierstown Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Sept. 15. During the service, four children and one adult received the sacrament of baptism. The children baptized and their parents were James August Goodbar, son of Carter and Georgia Goodbar; William Rycroft Harris, son of Tommy and Kathryn Harris; Charlotte Annette Klimczak, daughter of Ben and Katherine Klimczak; and Chance Burton Potter, son of Conner Ray and Kelsey Potter. Also baptized was Jeanne Nicely Staton.

Following the worship hour, a reception and time of fellowship provided by the Presbyterian Women was held on the front lawn of the church to welcome those baptized and their families and friends to Collierstown Presbyterian Church.

The Collierstown Presbyterian Women will hold their quarterly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Preparations for the annual church dinner to be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. will be discussed.

Sunday, Sept. 22, is homecoming day at the Union View Advent Christian Church. The homecoming worship service will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a covered-dish luncheon. The day will conclude with a program of gospel singing and music provided by the Ladies of Mercy.

The Collierstown United Methodist Charge members and friends are reminded of the joint worship service for the Collierstown and Mt. Horeb congregations on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Lake Robertson pavilion. The Rev. Daniel Montague will lead the service. A covered-dish picnic will follow the worship hour.

On Sept. 29 at 3 p.m. a community revival will be held at the Palmer Community Center hosted by the churches of the Buffalo, Effinger, and Collierstown communities. The revival will be led by Gospel Hill Ministries. Music will be provided by Datz Us Trio. All are invited to bring a lawn chair and join in this service of praise and worship.
