Vesuvius

Carolyn Terrell, (540) 430-4915/[email protected] Happy birthday wishes are being sent to my great-grandson, Kanon. A party was held for him and his sister, Willow, on Sept. 7. Also wishes for Lori Harvey, Tommy Groah, Kevin Phillips, Michelle Robertson, Mickey Berry, Jerrad Terrell (brother to Kanon and Willow), Carol St. Clair, Emory Bainey my uncle-in-law), Morgan Groah, Carolyn Simmons and Johnny Kislek.

Happy anniversary wishes to the Rev. and Mrs. John Ward and Bradley and Carrie Hite. Better health prayers for Angie Waymack and Becky Hite. Special prayers please for Tyler Clem, who is the pastor at Vesuvius Baptist Church.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Kevin Alestock Sr. and Joe Campbell.

On Sept. 13, I met with some of my Waynesboro High School friends for lunch at Panera. On Sept. 14, I attended the Wood family reunion in Fishersville. I had graduated with Alice Wood Sandridge, who invited me. So much food, lots of games and laughter. I have known Alice since 1958 when we were students at Wenonah Elementary School. Plus she lived in the next block from me.

This past Saturday I went to Buchanan to see my granddaughter Brooke Terrell Landes and her three children, Blayne, Dixie Lynn and Holton in their new home. While I was there her sister, Lauren Cahall, and her daughter, Charlotte Grace, came to visit also. So for this Nana, it was a great day! Lenny and Linda Phillips and other members of Old Providence Church went to Kentucky to the Creation Museum and to The Ark.

Don’t forget Vesuvius Heritage Day is Sept. 28 from 7:30 to 2. Montebello Fire Department will have their apple butter for sale at the Emory United Methodist Church.

The Raphine Volunteer Fire Company will be having barbecue chicken at the McCormick Farm on Oct. 5 starting at 11 a.m.

Please keep our country in prayer and I pray we all receive blessings from God.
