The members and friends of the Collierstown United Methodist Charge will hold a joint worship service for the Collierstown and Mt. Horeb congregations on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Lake Robertson pavilion. The Rev. Daniel Montague will lead the service. A covered-dish picnic will follow the worship hour.
On Sept. 29 at 3 p.m., a community revival will be held at the Palmer Community Center hosted by the churches of the Buffalo, Effinger and Collierstown communities. The revival will be led by Gospel Hill Ministries. Music will be provided by Datz Us Trio. All are invited to bring a lawn chair and join in this service of praise and worship.
The Collierstown Presbyterian Church’s annual church dinner will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the church with meals being served continuously from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Patrons may choose to dine in or carry out meals. The day’s menu will feature country ham, fried oysters and turkey with all the trimmings. An array of homecooked vegetables, coleslaw, applesauce, breads, assorted beverages and slices of delicious homemade cakes will provide the finishing touches for this unique dining experience. The day will also include a bazaar with baked goods, fresh homemade soups, and crafts that will benefit the Rockbridge Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Helping Hands, a food ministry of Fairfield Presbyterian Church. Be sure to save the date and come and enjoy the good food and fellowship!
There will be a kitchen and fellowship hall cleanup day on Saturday, Oct. 5, beginning at 9 a.m. All Presbyterian Women and friends are invited to come and help with building preparation for the church’s annual dinner on Nov. 2.
The Collierstown Presbyterian Women’s Night Circle will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. in the church’s fellowship hall. Area women interested in participating are invited to attend in person or virtually. The study will be available on Facebook Live beginning at 7 p.m. from the church’s Facebook page.
