The timber framers are returning to town tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 3, to build a stage cover for the Buena Vista Town Square.
About 60 to 70 timber framers will be constructing the stage cover at Grigg and Cindy Mullin’s property (550 Adair Hill Dr., Rockbridge Bath) between Thursday and Saturday. The finished product will be assembled at Town Square in downtown Buena Vista on Sunday.
“This will bring us one step closer to completing our vision for the Town Square,” said Kristina Ramsey, Buena Vista’s economic development director. “The weekend will be filled with activity, community spirit and plenty of hands-on work, with Sunday’s Raising Day being a real highlight. Plus, we have a fun announcement planned for Sunday – a new way for the community to get involved in the project.”
In April, 140-150 timber framers descended on the community to construct a farmers market pavilion for Town Square. The stage and its cover are to be adjacent to the pavilion.
