High Bridge Presbyterian Church will celebrate World Communion on Sunday, Oct. 6, and also receive 2-cents-a-meal.
There will also be a congregational meeting to elect new church officers during worship service on Oct. 6. Also on that day, the Rev. Steve Willis will conduct a new membership class after church worship for those wishing to join or any member can attend.
The afternoon circle will meet Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m. with Connie Powell.
The Presbyterian Women’s Coordinating team is making plans for the fall chili cook-off in November. Leigh Ann McCoy, chairperson of the PW Nominating Committee, will present a slate of new officers at the PWCT meeting Nov. 3.
Congratulations to Jacob and Whitney Bradley on the birth of their son, Cohen William Bradley, on Sept. 22. Proud grandparents are Gary and June Conner and proud great-grandmother is High Bridge member Geneva Conner.
High Bridge received word that former member Elizabeth Parsons, daughter of the late Pete and Millie Parsons of Natural Bridge, passed away in Florida on Sunday, Sept. 22. She was a 1978 graduate of Natural Bridge High School.
The Natural Bridge Station and surrounding area is mourning the loss of Joanne Ellington who passed away on Monday, Sept. 23. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to her husband John and family members. So many will cherish her memory as a wonderful preschool teacher of which she taught for several years.
The Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting cranberry sauce, stuffing and sweet potatoes for the food pantry during the month of October.
