On Sept. 22, descendants of Eliza Bannister and Harry Lee Walker - and their daughter and son-in-law Nannie Walker and Clarence Wood - gathered for the 157th anniversary services of First Baptist Church Lexington. In a special, historic tribute, the downstairs Walker-Wood Fellowship Hall was newly dedicated in their names, as were two stained glass windows flanking the sanctuary, honoring those pioneering ancestors, members at First Baptist themselves. The family gathering effectively spanned six generations, from the Walkers (born in the 1870s) to their great-great-grandchildren (the youngest generation pictured here). (Eric Wilson photo)
