High Bridge

Esther Pennington, 540-291-2629 The Rev. Jen Roberts of Roanoke delivered the sermon this past Sunday at High Bridge Presbyterian Church as the Rev. Willis took a “staycation.” She is a member of the Peaks Presbytery Board of Ministry.

Small church will meet Thursday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Come dressed as your favorite Bible character.

The Rev. Steve Willis will conduct a new membership class after worship at High Bridge for those wishing to join or any member can attend.

The session will meet next Sunday after worship.

Visiting church service this past Sunday was Sam West from Bismark, N.D., who is visiting son Dane and daughter-in-law Sheryl West.

The deacons are making plans for the fall chili cook-off in November.

Weekday religious Education is having bingo on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 4 p.m. at the Natural Bridge Volunteer Fire Department. All supporting churches are assembling themed baskets as prizes. Door prize tickets will also be available. Food will be available to purchase, in addition to a bake sale.

The Natural Bridge/Glasgow Ruritan Club will have its annual community raffle/ cakewalk on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Natural Bridge firehouse.

The Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting cranberry sauce, stuffing and sweet potatoes for the food pantry during the month of October.
