Sept. 30, 2024 Editor, The News-Gazette: I am writing in response to the letter writer “Trump Leadership More Important Than Ever” remarks of Sept. 22.
She must have been out of the country or in a coma because when Trump left office in 2020, our country was in a mess. People were getting laid off, businesses were closing, schools were closing, gas was cheap because no one was buying it! Empty shelves in grocery stores and other stores, people were dying, hospitals were over capacity, churches were empty. Trump also said Mexico would pay for a border wall. We all know that didn’t happen.
Biden and Harris inherited “a big mess” created by Trump. I am voting for Harris.
One more thing – I can buy toilet paper whenever I need it now. BEN TOPPING Newport News
