Oct. 13, 2024 Editor, the News-Gazette: Under Roe v Wade, states could restrict abortion in the third trimester, with the exception for rape, incest and the life or health of the pregnant woman. Harris/Walz will remove states’ rights and allow access to abortion for all nine months.
Under Roe v Wade, approximately 6,000-10,000 abortions were performed each year during the sixth to ninth month of development. During these gruesome D&X abortions, the cervix is enlarged, and the amniotic sac is punctured. The fetus’ body is extracted by pulling on its feet and legs until only the head remains inside. Scissors are used to make an opening at the base of the skull and a catheter is inserted. A suction machine extracts the liquid and soft contents of the head allowing the head to collapse, the dead body become limp, and the remainder of the head exits the birth canal. What did these innocent human beings do to warrant such a heinous, painful death?
How do medical personnel involved in those 50,000 abortions justify this inhumane treatment of the unborn after feeling and seeing the limp, fully developed body in their hand? Will you be complicit in these hideous actions against humanity?
