Virginia State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred Thursday, Oct 17, at 10:30 p.m. on U.S. 60, at the intersection of Wesley Chapel Road in Rockbridge County.
A 2008 Buick Lucerne ran off the right side of the roadway, struck the guardrail, then continued over the embankment rolling over several times.
The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was identified as John Edward Nelson Young, 75, of Staunton. He was transported to Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital, where he later died.
The crash remains under investigation.
