High Bridge Presbyterian Church welcomed back the Rev. Steve Willis this week after a week’s vacation.

Visiting church service this past Sunday was the Rev. Linda Trumbo of Covington.

Our congregation mourns the passing of one of our oldest members, Audrey Armentrout, who passed peacefully away at home surrounded by family and friends on Oct. 18. Audrey was the widow of Lee Armentrout. They lived in Natural Bridge. A full obituary will be published in this week’s paper.

Trunk or treat will Sunday, Oct. 27, at High Bridge.

Small Church will meet Thursday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

The deacons are making plans for the fall chili cookoff in November. Leigh Ann McCoy, chairperson of the Presbyterian Women’s Nominating Committee, will present a slate of new officers at the Nov. 3 meeting in the fellowship hall after worship service.

Weekday Religious Education is having bingo on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 4 p.m. at the Natural Bridge Volunteer Fire Department. All supporting churches are assembling themed baskets as prizes. Door prize tickets will also be sold. Food will be available to purchase, including a bake sale.

The Natural Bridge/ Glasgow Ruritan Club will have its annual community raffle/cakewalk on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Natural Bridge firehouse at 6 p.m.

The Natural Bridge/ Glasgow food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, and close at 11. There will be a meeting of the food pantry board at 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28. The High Bridge congregation is collecting cranberry sauce, stuffing and sweet potatoes (also vegetable oil) for the food pantry during the month of October.
