Kerrs Creek

Rachel Clark, (630) 607-9938 [email protected]

Sunday morning worship at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church was led by Rachel Clark, who preached from the end of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, recorded in Matthew 7. Pastor Casey Clark was in Harrisonburg as a special speaker for a Presbytery youth lock-in. He spoke on the theme of “God is love” from 1 John.

We had a great turnout and a beautiful evening at the New Monmouth pavilion for a chili dinner with cornbread, pie and many other desserts! Thank you to all to provided food and wonderful fellowship.

Ladies Circle meets this week at the home of Deb Jarrett.

Time and Talent sheets are available in the vestibule and on the table by the door in the Sunday school building. There will be a time to turn them in next Sunday, Oct. 27. We will have a brief congregational meeting following the service on Sunday in order to elect the elder nominating committee. Church members, please plan to stick around for a few minutes.

The October youth group meeting will be held Oct. 27 after church to go to the ropes course at Virginia Military Institute. Those interested can contact either Tim or Janeen Welsh.

The Lunch Bunch will meet on Monday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m. at Pure Eats. Everyone is welcome.

We will begin collecting items for flood victims in the southern states that were affected by the recent hurricanes. If you choose to write a check or give cash, please mark it for that, so it will go to the right fund. A list of needed supplies to put kits together to replenish what has been used by the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance teams and supplement if more are needed has gone out in an email from Karen. You can also access the list on the PC (USA) website.
