Editor, The News-Gazette: Ken Mitchell has pledged to leave no one behind. Ken has served in two branches of the U.S. Armed Forces — the Army and the Air Force, rising to the rank of chief warrant officer.
For us veterans this denotes unique substantive authority and leadership. Warrant officers achieve this rank because they have achieved a level of technical knowledge as well as a demonstrated ability to navigate any impossible bureaucracy. Ken did so where failure was not an option.
On the other side, Cline voted against improved roads, safer bridges, cleaner drinking water, more reliable electric power, broadband for millions of families, protection against floods and wildfires, reproductive rights and millions of good paying jobs. Cline is loyal to the constitution as written before the Civil War.
Ken Mitchell will be that good and faithful servant bearing true allegiance to all of us. Incumbency and vast amounts of money cannot buy elections all the time. We have a secret ballot and on absolute merit, which should matter more Mitchell is the only choice. TOBIAS PHILBIN Lexington
