Saturday, Oct. 26 -- The Parry McCluer High School volleyball team has earned the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Pioneer District tournament and will play host to sixth-seeded Highland County in the quarterfinal round at 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
The Fighting Blues defeated Bath County 3-0 in Hot Springs on Thursday to conclude the regular season with a 12-11 overall record and a 6-4 mark in district play. The Rams are seeded sixth after going 0-10 in the Pioneer this fall.
The winner of Monday's match will visit second-seeded Bath (11-6, 7-3 Pioneer) in the Pioneer semifinals on Tuesday. Top seed Narrows will take on either fourth-seeded Eastern Montgomery or No. 5 seed Craig County in the other semifinal contest.
Both the district championship and the third-place match are slated for Wednesday, with the higher seed hosting each game.
