Tuesday, Oct. 29 -- Third-seeded Parry McCluer High School defeated second-seeded Bath County 3-0 in the Pioneer District volleyball semifinals in Hot Springs.
The Fighting Blues (14-11) move on to the district championship match after recording a 25-20, 25-15, 25-23 victory over the Chargers (11-7). PM will travel to top seed Narrows (17-3) for the Pioneer final on Wednesday, with start time slated for 6 p.m.
Natalie Mohler notched 16 assists, 13 digs and two service aces for the Blues in Tuesday's semifinal. Kadence Zollman paced the PM offense with 11 kills, while Keely Mahaffey registered nine kills, four blocks, seven assists and 19 digs.
Peira Conner chipped in nine digs for the Blues -- including her 100th of the season -- to go along with seven kills, five aces and a pair of blocks. Logan Vest led the defensive effort with 22 digs, while Allie Cullen notched 16 digs and Josie Martinez finished with 10. Cullen and Vest also served up three aces apiece.
Narrows swept the regular-season series against PM, winning 3-0 at home on Sept. 19 and 3-1 in Buena Vista on Oct. 10.
