Blue Forest Theatre Academy will present “Hadestown: Teen Edition,” a vibrant adaptation of Anaïs Mitchell’s, Tony Award-winning musical, that reimagines the classic myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.
Performances will take place on Nov. 7, 8, and 9 at 7 p.m. with a matinee on Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at Lenfest Center for the Arts at Washington and Lee University.
“Hadestown: Teen Edition” invites audiences into a world where the power of music, love, and hope collide against a backdrop of a post-apocalyptic landscape. Featuring a cast of young performers, this rendition showcases the journey of Orpheus as he ventures into the underworld to rescue his beloved Eurydice, all while navigating the challenges posed by the formidable Hades and Persephone.
This teen edition retains the heart of the original while making it accessible for younger audiences, showcasing the importance of hope, love, and the human spirit’s ability to overcome adversity, said Kim Hirt, director of the Blue Forest Theatre Academy.
