Happy Halloween! Wishing everyone a fun, safe and spooky holiday!

Sending birthday wishes to Faith Baptist Church members Debbie Dameron and Bellamy Campbell, as well as to Martha Ramer from her friends at St. John’s Episcopal.

Faith Baptist Church will have homecoming on Nov. 3. A Men’s Prayer Breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. on Nov. 6.

Many thanks to the Rev. Tray Light for leading a Holy Eucharist service this past Sunday at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Thanks also to Bert Buford and Josh Gardner for providing music. Coffee hour was Halloween-themed and hosted by my husband and me.

All are invited to St. John’s Episcopal Church this Friday, Nov. 1, at 6 p.m. for the All Saints Day Community Service led by the Rev. Dr. Bob Copenhaver. Refreshments will be provided in the parish hall after the service. Come as you are!

On Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., renowned local artist Lenny Lyons Bruno will help folks make their own versions of the famous, sometimes funky, scarves she has offered for sale in the past.

The workshop fee of $150 includes lunch. Participants should bring at least three fabric selections (a sweater or two and other fabrics). Sewing machines and sample materials will be available for use. Attendees are invited to bring their own machines.

Thunder BRidge, located at 1425 Arnolds Valley Road in Natural Bridge Station, will host the workshop.

For help in deciding what materials to bring, please contact Bruno at [email protected].

To register, please send an email to thunderbridgecampground@ gmail.com. Please include your name, snail mail address, phone number, whether you will bring your own sewing machine, and any information you would like others to know about your background and interests. Thunder BRidge will then follow up to arrange payment by check, Venmo, or Zelle.

Maximum class size is 12, so please register now! Bruno maintains an art studio at Thunder BRidge. The Glasgow Life Saving Crew is hosting a cakewalk on Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Glasgow First Aid Building, 710 McCulloch St. Proceeds will benefit the Glasgow Life Saving Crew. Baked goods are needed and appreciated! Call (540) 460-3352 for more details.
