Better health prayers for Becky Hite and Becky Shaw. Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Mary Hamilton Clark (my aunt). Nona Allen preformed a wonderful service in honoring Mary at Emory United Methodist Church. The ladies of the church prepared a delicious meal afterwards. Mary to me was a lot like her mother in that she was soft spoken, loved her family, and loved her husband Willard Clark, who predeceased Mary. She took care of her dad, Ed Hamilton, until his passing. She was a caregiver at heart. I do want to publicly give her daughter, Louise Clark, a big thank you for the love and care she gave her mother.

The Raphine Volunteer Fire Company will hold its Thanksgiving feast on Saturday, Nov. 9, starting at 5 p.m. The Vesuvius Community Association is getting geared up for the Vesuvius Holiday Xpress shopping baazar. This year it will be held at the Community Center on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be available. The center is located at 53 Tye Pine Avenue, Vesuvius.

Big thanks again for donating to the organizations that will be heading out again to North Carolina. It’s amazing how much this small community has done for our neighbors there. I am very proud of our community.
