Small Church will meet tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
The deacons are making plans for the fall chili cook-off on Sunday, Nov. 17, after church service. A trophy will be awarded to the winner. Besides chili, cornbread and crackers are appreciated.
Leigh Ann McCoy, chairperson of the Presbyterian Women’s Nominating Committee, will present a slate of new officers at the Nov. 3 meeting in the fellowship hall after worship service.
The evening circle meets at 6 p.m. with Jeannie Jeffer on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
The afternoon circle meets at 1 p.m. on Nov. 12 at the home of Cindie and David Whitmore with Joanna Whitmore as hostess.
Weekday Religious Education is having bingo on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 4 p.m. at the Natural Bridge Volunteer Fire Department. All supporting churches are assembling themed baskets as prizes. Door prize tickets will also be available. Food will be available to purchase, including a bake sale.
Beth Horon United Methodist Church is having their annual pork dinner on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 4 pm.
The community received word of the passing recently of Addie Wright Hager, of Bluefield, W.Va., and aunt of Dwinnie Shafer. She was a member of the Natural Bridge High School class of 1953. Her funeral was held yesterday, Tuesday, Oct. 29, in Bluefield.
Also on Nov. 9 there will be a cakewalk at Glasgow First Aid to benefit the Glasgow Life Saving Crew. Donations of baked goods are greatly appreciated. For questions, call (540) 4603352.
The Natural Bridge/Glasgow Ruritan Club had its annual community raffle/cakewalk on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Natural Bridge firehouse.
The Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting cranberry sauce, stuffing, sweet potatoes and vegetable oil for the food pantry.
