Oct. 28, 2024 Editor, The News-Gazette: So thankful to have candidates to vote for who have dedicated their adult lives to public service, who revere and will uphold our constitution, and believe that America is the greatest country on earth thanks to the ideals set forth by our founding fathers.

Kamala Harris is the quintessential example of achieving the American dream by working her way through college and then climbing the ranks of the legal system as a district attorney, state attorney general and then U.S. senator prior to becoming VP. She knows the law and follows the law.

Tim Walz and Ken Mitchell have nearly half a century of military service between them. Deep gratitude for your service, gentlemen!

Tim Kaine has been a missionary and very effective leader as governor and senator serving Virginians well for decades.

They all exude the leadership qualities that we expect and deserve. Relatable, intelligent, compassionate and empathetic to the needs of all Americans, they will fight for our freedoms, work to make us safer, preserve democracy at home and abroad, invest in the middle class and offer everyone the chance at the American dream.
