Collierstown

Deborah Potter McCormick, 540-463-7652

The Presbyterian Women of Collierstown Presbyterian Church would like to thank community friends and all the patrons of their annual church dinner held Saturday, Nov. 2. A total of 1,011 country ham, turkey and fried oyster meals were served to patrons dining in and ordering meals to go. The day’s bazaar proceeds totaled over $2,300 and will be divided and donated to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes of Rockbridge and to Helping Hands, a food bank ministry of the Fairfield Presbyterian Church. Many former church members living outside the community attended and returned to help with the event as did friends of the church in the community. A big thank you to a local business that donated a Dumpster for use during the event. Funds from the dinner will be used for community outreach and to minister locally and abroad.

The Night Circle of the Collierstown Presbyterian Church will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the fellowship hall at 7. A time of fellowship will begin at 6:30, followed by the Bible study. Rosalea and Riley Potter will lead the study from Ruth Chapter 2 on “Kindness Beyond Expectations.” For more information, call Debbie McCormick at (540) 460-1325. All are invited to join the group in person or on Facebook Live from the church’s Facebook page at 7 p.m.
