For Your Consideration
It seems the Abraham Lincoln quote, “You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time,” seemed to be proven true.
But the politicians and the media sure did try to fool all of us. We were told Biden was “sharp as a tack” and “ran circles around his much younger staff.” Then came the debate and two things happened to surprise the public — Biden’s disastrous performance and perhaps not as noticed was clearly biased anti-Trump commentators moderating the debate could play it straight and fair. (Sadly, this standard was not the case in the debates that followed.)
The disastrous debate exposed the politicians and even the media had been lying to us about the mental state of the president.
Prior to the debate, the media and select politicians and pundits were calling for Biden to drop Kamala Harris as she had been a failure as vice president. All that talk stopped as Democrat politicians began to panic and decided to push Kamala Harris to be the nominee. Former President Obama and Rep. Nancy Pelosi “convinced” Biden not to run.
The major news media fell in line and all talk about Harris being a failure stopped and politicians began the make over of Harris as the perfect candidate rather than a person that would weaken a Biden reelection campaign.
The Democrats and media began touting Harris and raising funds — over a billion dollars in all from both the rich and Democrats believing Trump was a new Hitler or “threat to democracy” poured in.
But as the Democrats and media told us the economy was good, the people did not think it was good when they saw how much groceries, gas, utilities, insurance, and about everything else had skyrocketed under the Biden-Harris administration The media and administration kept saying there was no crisis on the border, but when the illegal immigration reached about 20 million and the cost to the American citizens in increased crime, veterans being displaced to house the migrants, and then to discover the administration was actually flying migrants from Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba and Haiti into the country. They no longer believed the lie.
When the mayor of Aurora, Colo., and other politicians were telling us there was no gang activity in the migrants as people were seeing gang members taking over an apartment complex on television. Newspapers, radio and television were reporting murders, rapes, and violent crime, even right here in Virginia.
War in the Middle East, Ukraine and threat of war in the Far East was met not by American strength but Biden-Harris administration were giving time after time empty “Don’t” threat.
The FBI and intelligence agencies learned of a planned assassination of former President Trump but somehow this threat was ignored and two assassination attempts were made of the former president. A man would die protecting his family as Trump miraculously survived being shot in Pennsylvania.
Yet the politicians and media were projecting a Harris win with the socalled Democrat Blue Wall. But when the votes were counted, it did not turn out that way.
Americans were no longer believing media and politicians who would misquote Trump and claim he said he would be a “dictator starting on day one” when in fact he has said he would only be a dictator on day one to end the illegal migration and to get us back moving toward energy independence.
Or Trump threatened a “blood bath” if he weren’t elected when in fact he said foreign car makers were planning to build large plants in Mexico and have them shipped tariff free into American and it would be a “bloodbath for the American auto industry if that happen.”
In spite of all the ads and billion dollars the Harris campaign received and spent compared to a small fraction of that total spent by the Trump campaign, a majority of America voters had had enough of the policies of the last four years and disbelief that things would get better under Harris and the Democrats.
The majority of voters were convinced energy costs would come down under a Trump administration and that alone would cut inflation; illegal immigration would be dramatically reduced; there would be no packing of the Supreme Court; plus, an overall improvement in the nation’s economy and security.
The election of 2024 was only the second time in the nation’s history that a president was elected, defeated, and re-elected. It was also one of the few times that a party in power had been so broadly defeated in both the Electoral College and popular vote. With the control of the White House, Senate and (likely, as of this writing) the House of Representatives, the elected president and his party have the ability to make major changes to the political climate and win over the support of a vast majority of the people. Congratulations to all candidates for office that were elected or re-elected to local, state or national office.
The election proved money alone can’t win elections but people getting out and voting can and did. Election thoughts for your consideration.
