Jackie Weaver and her adult son Shawn, who are survivors of the flooding in North Carolina, are relocating into our area and were in attendance at Glasgow Baptist Church this past Sunday. The congregation reached out to help them begin to get back on their feet and let them feel welcome here.

Looking ahead, the annual Christmas parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, at 4 p.m. If interested in putting in an entry, contact the parade chairman at (540) 460-6903.

The construction on the future Dollar General Market is progressing quite well. The building is up, the driveway and parking lot are being paved. This writer doesn’t have a projected opening date, however.
