CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LEXINGTON, VIRGINIA CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BUENA VISTA, VIRGINIA BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, VIRGINIA Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Lexington, Virginia (the “Lexington Council”), the City Council of the City of Buena Vista, Virginia (the “Buena Vista Council”), and the Board of Supervisors of Rockbridge County, Virginia (the “Rockbridge Board”) will each hold a public hearing regarding adoption of a proposed joint Resolution by the Lexington Council, the Buena Vista Council, and the Rockbridge Board(collectively, the “Localities”). Pursuant to the proposed joint Resolution, the Localities would amend and supplement the Articles of Incorporation of the Maury Service Authority (“MSA”) to provide for a financed project to upgrade the MSA’s water system facilities and extend the term of the MSA for an additional fifty (50) years, among other things.
In particular, the MSA desires to undertake financing to (a) acquire, construct, rehabilitate, and equip the MSA’s water system and related facilities, including but not limited to replacing and upgrading water transmission lines along the Route 11 Bypass and other water supply and transmission upgrades, and (b) pay costs in connection with the related financing(s).
Public Hearing by the Lexington Council On November 21, 2024, beginning at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as may be heard, the Lexington Council will hold such public hearing, which may be continued or adjourned,in the Board Meeting Room, 1st Floor of the Rockbridge County Administration Building, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450. CITY OF LEXINGTON NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING APPLICATIONS BY THE CITY OF LEXINGTON REQUESTING THAT:A) THE ZONING MAP BE AMENDED TO REZONE THE CITY OWNED PARCELS ASSOCIATED WITH EVERGREEN AND OAK GROVE CEMETERIES, AND B) CONDITIONAL USE PERMITS BE ISSUED TO ALLOW CEMETERY USE ON ALL LAND ASSOCIATED WITH EVERGREEN AND OAK GROVE CEMETERIES.
A public hearing will be conducted by Lexington City Council at a meeting to begin at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, to allow persons to present their views in response to applications by the City of Lexington requesting the following: A) That the Zoning Map be amended to rezone: 1) that 1.855 acres portion of Evergreen Cemetery (TM #25-1-9)purchased by the City in January 2023 and currently zoned R-1; and 2) that 0.445 acres portion of Oak Grove Cemetery (TM #23-1-160) immediately adjacent to the rear property lines of 14 Houston Street and 16 Houston Street and currently zoned R-1. The request is to rezone both properties to the P-OS (Parks and Open Space District) zoning district; and B) That Conditional Use Permits be issued to allow Cemetery use on all land associated with Evergreen Cemetery (TM #25-1-9) and Oak Grove Cemetery (TM #23-1160 and TM #29-1-30).

Notice is hereby given per Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia and Section 808 of the County of Rockbridge Land Development Regulations (the Regulations) that a public hearing will be held by the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors on Monday, November 25, 2024, at or after 6:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the County Administration Building, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450 to consider the following application: 1) Warm Run Solar, LLC, 107 5th Street, Charlottesville Virginia, 22902 has made an application for a Special Exception Permit to develop a 3.00-MW (AC) solar project (public utility). The property is owned by Robert F. Huffman, Trustee, 1318 Mount Atlas Road, Lexington Virginia, 24450 and is identified as tax map number 62-12-B1 (56.00 ac. per tax records). The property is located on the east side of Lincoln Road (Rt. 763) approximately 0.52 miles south of the intersection of Lincoln Road and N. Lee Highway (Rt.11). Access to the proposed solar project is from Warm Run Road (Rt. 788). The property is in the Agricultural Transitional (A-T) Zoning District. Per section 603B.03-14 of the Regulations, Public Utilities are a use by special exception in the A-T District.
