Police Investigating Vandalism At W&L
The Lexington Police Department is investigating an act of vandalism at the Red House on the Washington and Lee University campus. The vandalism was discovered by the university’s Public Safety Office on Nov. 7 and reported to LPD.
Red House is home to the university’s LGBTQ Resource Center, and the damage from the vandalism included spray-painted graffiti inside the building. In a statement, the university said that it has increased security and asked anyone with information pertinent to the incident to report it to the Public Safety Office.
“Treating everyone with respect and kindness is a core value at W&L,” the statement continued, “and there is no place for harassment, intimidation or vandalism on our campus. Anyone found responsible for this act will be held fully accountable in accordance with university policy and the law.”
