The Effinger Ruritan Club, in cooperation with area churches, will host a Community Thanksgiving Service at Palmer Community Center, 1230 Blue Grass Trail, on Sunday, Nov. 24, at 5 p.m.
“The theme of the service will of course be Thanksgiving,” said a spokesman. “We’ve had a time of it, what with Covid, storms, drought, elections, and more. It is wonderful to be getting out the other side, able to gather together, and to offer thanks.”
The Rev. Daniel Monatague, recently installed pastor at the Collierstown and Mt. Horeb United Methodist churches, will deliver the Thanksgiving message. Light refreshments will be provided.
Supporting area churches are Collierstown and Oxford Presbyterian churches, Collierstown and Mt. Horeb United Methodist churches, Collierstown Baptist, Union View Advent Christian Church, and Rapps Mill Church.
