High Bridge

High Bridge Presbyterian Church visitors this past Sunday were Chris and Courtney Thomas and family of Christiansburg as well as both grandchildren of Jeff and Tam Tolley.

Small Church Bible study group will meet tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 21, at the church fellowship hall with Joe Hawes leading the Bible study. Light refreshments will be served, and guests are welcome to attend.

The evening circle will meet Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. with Lea Braford.

Presbyterian Women are receiving the “thank offering” in the month of November for their mission projects set by the Presbytery.

The fall chili cook-off was well-attended this past Sunday. Receiving the trophy was Leigh Ann McCoy. Second place was awarded to Dwinnie Shafer and Brad Myers won third.

The Advent season is fast approaching. High Bridge will have “hanging of the greens” on Nov. 30. Advent begins on Dec. 1.

The drive-thru Christmas program is scheduled for Dec. 8.

The Natural Bridge Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a lighted “memory” Christmas tree at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, at the fire department. There will be a $10 fee per memory light. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served after the event. Call (540) 570-0021 or ask any NBVFD member any questions you may have.

The Natural Bridge/ Glasgow food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 21, and close at 11. The High Bridge congregation is collecting cranberry sauce, stuffing and canned sweet potatoes (also vegetable oil) for the food pantry during the month of November.
