A nationwide Greyhound Bus lines strike affected travelers in the area, especially the students who relied on bus transportation to get them home for Thanksgiving.
- Buena Vista City Council announced that city accountant J.E. Gilbert received a reprimand for unauthorized use of city telephone service. -A large truck caused extensive damage to the building housing Bierer’s Pharmacy at the corner of Main and Washington streets. The pharmacy’s sign had been struck by another truck in a similar incident just a few weeks before.

Both Lexington City Council and the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors voted to withdraw their applications for a low-interest deferral loan to finance the new courts facility. - Buena Vista’s Business Development Council decided not to pursue full Main Street status for the city and instead planned to focus its energies on creating a business development plan aimed at revitalizing the city’s downtown and attracting tourists. -A local model railroading club proposed building a model railroad layout at Jordans Point recreating the time period when the area was a bustling commercial center.
