Santa will be coming to Collierstown once again this year, but at a different location.
He will visit boys and girls in the pavilion at the Collierstown Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 2 until 3:30 p.m. The church is located at 3926 Collierstown Road.
Children will be able to drop off letters to Santa, talk with Santa, and have their pictures taken with him. The Effinger Ruritan Club will sponsor pictures with Santa courtesy of Bluegrass Photography.
Santa’s visit is being hosted by the community’s seven churches - Collierstown Baptist, Presbyterian, and United Methodist churches, along with Mt. Horeb United Methodist, Oxford Presbyterian, Rapps Mill Church, and Union View Advent Christian Church.
The seven churches have been joining together since the start of Covid in 2020 to sponsor a variety of community events. They have also raised funds for the helping hands food pantry at the Fairfield Presbyterian Church and the Palmer community center, and most recently, they raised $2,360 for God’s Pit Crew to support hurricane relief in North Carolina.
