Saturday, Dec. 7 8 a.m. to noon – Packing Day for the Rockbridge Christmas Baskets program,

Anderson Coliseum, Virginia Horse Center. 9 a.m. – Jingle Bell Run , Nelson Street bridge in Lexington.

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – “Christmas on the Farm,” Virginia Museum of the Civil War, New Market. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Craft fair , Kendal Hall, main Anderson building, Kendal at Lexington.

1 to 5 p.m. – Gifts of Nature workshop, Boxerwood. 2 to 3:30 p.m. – “Santa Is Coming To Collierstown,”

Collierstown Baptist Church. 2 to 8 p.m. – Community Festival of Nativities, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1340 Thornhill Road. 4 p.m. – Glasgow Christmas parade, sponsored by Glasgow First Aid Crew; Santa to visit with children afterwards at squad building. 4 to 5:30 p.m. – “Christmas Carol Celebration,” Brownsburg Museum. 6 p.m. – Fairfield Christmas parade, sponsored by South River Volunteer Fire Department, Santa will visit with children at the firehouse after the parade.

7:30 p.m. – Rockbridge Chorus’holiday program, Lexington Presbyterian Church.

Sunday, Dec. 8

2 to 8 p.m. – Community Festival of Nativities, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1340 Thornhill Road; the Community Christmas Concert will take place at 6 p.m. at the church.

2 to 4 p.m. – Holiday reception, Paxton House , Glen

Maury Park.

5 to 7 p.m. - Christmas at the Park, Santa visit, singing by local children, refreshments, Paxton House, Glen Maury Park.

6 p.m. – “Lessons and Carols

, ” presented by SVU choirs, Trinity United Methodist Church.

Wednesday, Dec. 11

7:30 p.m. – “Carols in the Courtyard,” VMI barracks, followed by a candlelight service in Memorial Hall at 7 p.m. hosted by the VMI Chaplin’s Office.

7:30 p.m. – “Christmas on the Hill,” featuring SVU’s choirs and orchestras, Knight Arena, SVU.

Thursday, Dec. 12

Noon – Music at Noon, Improvisations on Advent and Christmas melodies, William McCorkle, piano, Lexington

Presbyterian Church.

Noon to 5 p.m. – VMI Museum open house, with refreshments, door prizes and discounts.

5 to 9 p.m. – Luminary Nights, Natural Bridge State Park, regular admission applies.

6 to 8 p.m. – “Jingle Bell Bash in the Baths,” Rockbridge Baths firehouse.

6:30 p.m. – “Snow White’s Holiday Celebration” performed by the Rockbridge Ballet, Lenfest Center, W&L.

Saturday, Dec. 14 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Arts in the Baths, presented by the North Rockbridge Art League and Friends, the barn at Wade’s Mill 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – North Rockbridge Trail, holiday open houses at businesses in northern Rockbridge County. 11 a.m. – Christmas Market , presented by Buena Vista Farmers Market, in Asunders and Straws. 1 to 4 p.m. – Rockbridge SPCA open house, bring a toy, a treat, a blanket or various food items for cats and dogs to place under the SPCA Christmas tree. 2 and 6 p.m. – “Snow White’s Holiday Celebration” performed by the Rockbridge Ballet, Lenfest Center, W&L.

5 to 9 p.m. – Luminary Nights, Natural Bridge State Park, regular admission applies.
