In the Nov. 13 edition of the newspaper, a chart with voting numbers from the Nov. 5 elections was published. Unfortunately, the numbers presented were incorrect – they were taken from the State Board of Elections website on Friday, Nov. 8, when many of the voting numbers had not yet been added.
For example, early inperson votes cast at the Rockbridge County registrar’s office had not yet been added to the individual precinct totals. Also, provisional votes and mailed-in ballots had not yet been included with the locality totals.
We apologize for presenting these incomplete voting numbers and for any confusion it may have caused. For those interested in learning the final voting numbers, visit the State Board of Elections website at www.elections. virginia.gov. Click on “go to results,” then click on “view contests by locality.” Click on the specific locality and, if desired, click on “view votes by precinct.”
