Thank you to all who braved the wintry weather and came out for a beautiful morning of worship at New Monmouth. It was wonderful to praise the Lord together on the third Sunday in Advent. Thank you to Laura, Dianne, Sarah and Calvin who helped lead music. Thank you to Andrew and Sarah Dunlap for lighting the Advent candle. Thank you to the choir for presenting the Christmas cantata. Thank you to all who set up, contributed food, and cleaned up with the reception this morning.
We are grateful to Dianne for her many – 35 - years of service to New Monmouth Presbyterian Church. She will be stepping down from leading but will still be involved in playing and singing when she is not on adventures with Gary and family.
If you missed the cantata, it can be viewed on YouTube on the church’s channel.
Christmas caroling and the cookie exchange will take place on Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. at church. We will put together plates of cookies, with some to be delivered to those we will visit with Christmas carols. Next Sunday, Dec. 22, there will be a pop-up Nativity for those willing to participate.
Next Sunday, Dec. 22, there will be a brief congregational meeting to elect elders.
The Christmas Eve candlelight service will be Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 5 p.m.
Please join us at New Monmouth for an evening of jazz and desserts on Dec. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. Musicians and friends of New Monmouth will provide jazz selections for your enjoyment. The evening is free, but donations to the music scholarship fund are welcome.
