Lighting the third candle of Advent (which represents Joy) this past Sunday were Tom and Allison Thompson and their children Cody, Kayla, Colin and Jacob.

This past Sunday we welcomed to our worship service Allison Thompson’s mother, Rita Echols, who was visiting from Smithfield.

Small group Bible study will not meet this month. Christmas Eve candlelight communion service will be held Dec. 24 at 5 p.m.

Recently David and Carol Tolley, Tracey Tackett, and Connie Powell attended the second birthday party of Eviana Tolley, daughter of Gabe and Arabella Tolley of Cleveland. Also attending were Travis, Karen Ann and Bear Tolley of Staunton, and Larry and Sharon Creamer of Lexington.

The Natural Bridge/Glasgow Ruritan Club held its annual Christmas dinner hosted by Beth Horon United Methodist Church on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Members were invited to bring a spouse or guest. New officers were installed at the meeting.

The community was invited to Beth Horon United Methodist Church last Saturday evening for a joint musical program by members of the church and nearby Trinity and Lithia United Methodist churches.

The Natural Bridge Weekday Religious Education (WRE) program enjoyed its closing Christmas party and program this past week.

The Natural Bridge Fire Department thanks all who attended and assisted with their Breakfast with Santa auxiliary fundraiser last Saturday. Also, a big thank you to those who participated and made possible the lit “memory” Christmas tree ceremony this past Sunday evening at the fire department.

The Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 19, and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting canned sweet potatoes, vegetables and fruits for the food pantry during the month of December.
