Clyde Archie Beverly, 92, of Buena Vista went home to Jesus on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023.

He was born Oct. 2, 1930, in Rockbridge County to the late Robert Lewis Beverly and Hallie Mae Roberts Beverly.

He was also preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Clara Alene Beverly, and a son, Don Marcus Beverly.

In addition to being a lifelong member of the Buena Vista First Pentecostal Holiness Church, he owned and operated Beverly Brothers Welding-Machine Shop. Archie was a devout family man who worked tirelessly for the provisions his family needed.

He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting bear, trout fishing, turkey hunting, coon hunting, deer hunting but hated a “lying Coon dog!” He had many friends he loved to hunt with. Friends being Buddy Hamilton, Delmas Beverley, Hank Beverley, Simon Beverley, Dickie Hamilton, Lewis Hamilton and Lee Wright. This is just to name a few but there are many more. However, his three greatest loves in his life were his God, his wife of 70 years (Alene) and his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Rini and husband Bob of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two sons and their wives, David and Cindy Beverly of Eagle Rock, and Timmy and Jennifer Beverly of Amherst; many grandchildren; and very special friend, Theresa Fainter, of Natural Bridge.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Adam Williams, the Rev Mike Dodson and son, Timothy, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
