Wishing everyone a happy and safe new year! Blessings to all in 2025!
My apologies for being late with some of the area news this time: some end of the year traveling and a rather nasty bout of bronchitis over the past couple of weeks left me scrambling to catch up!
Sending belated birthday wishes to my brother Zach Brown, as well as to Faith Baptist Church members Mercadi Hostetter, Hayden Davis and Matthew Tanner. Happy birthday also to Tiffani King, Lucy Vasquez, Irene Watkins, Donna Thomas, Jason Hostetter, and to Ron Williams in Concord, N.C., from his Virginia family and friends, as well as to St. John’s Episcopal Church member Debbie Carroll.
Happy anniversary to Faith Baptist members Bob and Martha Tolley, James and Erica Beverly, and Tony and Melissa Hutcherson.
At Faith Baptist Church, a Men’s Prayer Breakfast will be this morning at 8. There will be a Ladies Circle meeting on Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. and the church will host a Clothes Closet on Jan. 18 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
St. John’s Episcopal Church celebrated its sixth annual Christmas Eve Community Service of Lessons and Carols last week. At least 70 people attended the service this year. Many thanks to all who helped make this year’s service a joyous event! The service was recorded and will be available on the church’s YouTube channel soon.
As we close out 2024, let us take a moment to remember our community’s families and friends that lost loved ones throughout the year whether here at home or somewhere else in the world: Watts, Miller, Perkins, Moore, Lotts, Camden, Blair, Gardner, Branham, Coleman, Mohler, Keith, Cash, Beard, Shiraki, Johnson, Brasher, Ellington, VanOsten, Breeden, Williams, Staton and Davis. May you all have peace.
