All year members of the Rockbridge Pieceworkers Quilt Guild (RPQG) made book buddy pillows with pockets for books for students of Head Start in Rockbridge County in celebration of the holiday season. Eighty book buddy pillows were made and distributed. On Monday, Dec. 16, several quilt guild members distributed the book buddy’s to students at TAP HeadStart Early Learning Center in Buena Vista. Here, quilters Gail Caldwell (left) and Susan Maluski (in back) give out book pillow buddies as parent Caitlin Strumb looks on. RPQG meets every second Saturday at the RARA building at 9:30 a.m., and visitors are welcome.
