The second annual Chili Challenge will take place on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 5 p.m. at host church Beth Horon United Methodist Church. Come join the fun and fellowship! Last year we had approximately 50 attending from six different churches! Who will take home the coveted Golden Spoon Award and bragging rights this year? Don’t make chili? Sides and desserts are welcome!

On Sunday, Jan. 12, High Bridge Presbyterian Church installed the elders and deacons of the class of 2027. The elders for this class are Dwinnie Shafer and Sam Vest. The deacons are Dawn Manspile, Dane West and David Whitmore. Sam Vest will be installed at a later date.

The Evening Circle meeting was postponed due to inclement weather and plan to meet Feb. 4.

The Natural Bridge/Glasgow Ruritans will meet at High Bridge Presbyterian Church at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, for a meeting and a dinner prepared by the Presbyterian Women. The PW Annual Meeting will be on Jan. 26 after morning worship service. Officer reports, election and installation of new officers, and a memorial service are part of the program. Come join us as we celebrate the gifts of High Bridge women!

Joanna Fainter is starting a new mission project in the new year. She would like to make and give “kid quilts” to children who are in foster care, and she would like our help. If interested, call Carol Tolley at (540) 460-9451 and she will let Joanna know.

The food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting boxed macaroni and cheese for the food pantry during the month of January.
